hello Sharon. missed reading your honesty and clarity. this article continues to highlight the real issue we all face with racism, not even subtle but the kind that is in-your-face arrogance. the antidote? wear a shirt w/ that famous line "inhumanity isn't sustainable" and saves your breath with a smile:)
Here's an irony for you - I got an email from a subscriber in response to this post accusing me of being a "race grifter" - it never ends. He's now an ex-subscriber.
I agree. But I would clarify the type of delusion he is afflicted with. It's most likely he knows full well what a racist he is and that his argument is stupid--he doesn't really believe it. He's just "enjoys" the power that he feels he has by being racist and using contrived arguments to justify it. Yes, if he thinks it will work--in the long run--that is, I hope, the delusion.
The racist comments you receive is proof you're fighting a real battle. They (sadly) justify your work. It's easier said than done, but I imagine you could find renewed strength and resolve when facing such attacks. In any case, as you know and expressed, these comments are expressions of weakness, rooted in fear and, ultimately, lack of education (or profound cynicism). When people learn and open their mind, they cease to be afraid, and racism fades away. Keep up the good work!
Yes Sharon, no distractions, but focused and fierce!
I think that the global minority is afraid of losing the control they are accustomed to. The fear of "replacement theory" is fuel for white supremacists.
This whole thing has gone completely pear-shaped from where I thought we were headed 3 1/2 years ago. The racists are absolutely enabled now, out and proud. Much worse than when I was a kid in the 70s. I can think of someone ugly to point the finger at, but it has been a collective failing of silent white people, social media, and the news media.
Discouraged But Determined

„inhumanity isn’t sustainable“

Re: "was clearly an attempt to get round the commenter approval feature I have turned on."
Thank you for the labor to check nonsense at the door 🚪
I'm relieved there is bouncer energy here and am glad to know that is part of the labor here as well as the excellent writing 📝
Also mourning how much labor is needed to 🛑 hate at the door.
Celebrating 🍾 your naming of truth at hate and racism unsustainability.
Thanks for continuing to share. People like me need to hear these stories. Here's another that may prove of interest https://www.psu.edu/news/health-and-human-development/story/customers-stereotypes-may-make-work-emotionally-harder-asian/
I agree. I do what I can to support your voice. Honestly, what I want to do about it isn't legal, so I generally keep to myself.
