A little while back I talked a bit about Black privilege. And one of the privileges I enjoy living in Barbados is being surrounded mostly by people who look like me, being in a place where when I’m out and about, I don’t stand out in any way (at least not because of my skin colour).

It’s the opposite when I leave the island, as I was reminded on a trip last year.
