It's not often that your writing has me seeing red. I know this is a safe space, so I will monitor myself.
The ENTIRE culture of ignorant people having the opportunity to spew their vitriol every. time. Black. folks. show. up. is so, very tiring. We are magnificent magnets, yet we just seem to attract the smallest, vile iron filings and they just won't leave us alone!
It's actually absurd, the anti-intellectual movement has fostered flat-out belligerent racism. I have actually had to say more than once, "um... you know... there's no such things as mermaids."
I'm excited to see Ariel as a Black girl. When my daughter was young I bought her a Tiana doll even though she'd never been interested in the movie. Guess what? My daughter enjoyed playing with her as much as the others - and never thought it was strange or "wrong".
Yes, Sharon. I’m tired, too.
I’m looking forward to seeing Tinkerbell this year 😍
