So, Are We Actually Listening to Black Women? - SARN Minis #77 Transcript

Hi, I'm Sharon Hurley Hall. Welcome to the Sharon's Anti-Racism Newsletter podcast, SARN Minis.

I recorded this one on the road, so you may hear a little traffic noise in the background, but I realised something as I was browsing LinkedIn today: I don't want to talk about algorithmic bias anymore.

I've talked about it for years. I've shared evidence, some as recently as a couple of months ago, but I want to shout out here Dr Gillian Marcelle, who posted a really interesting take, and one that I agree with in in the main on what's been going on with this gender swap ID on LinkedIn thing, in order to prove something that people racialised as Black and people of the Global Majority have been talking about for years, have shown evidence of for years. As someone else pointed out, the fact that it was done as a gesture In Trans Awareness Week does not sit right either.
