Thank you Mitchell, that worked! I read the piece and want to reflect on it before commenting at length, it was illuminating. For now I will say I am, put simply, white. As I explored my family's ancestry, I learned that we are from broad swath reaching from Russia to England. So we're many ethnicities, but white and in recent years I've come to understand just what weight that has carried. Thanks again to Sharon for sharing this piece and to Mitchell for helping me to access it.
Thanks for this rich list. I found the piece by Ivory Toldson of particular interest and shared it with one of my team members. I may have to subscribe to Forbes because the articles are inaccessible without a subscription. That said, even the little I could read introduced me to some new and important terms and concepts.
Such a lovely list! I took almost half of last year off (burn out as a Black freelancing woman is not talked about enough smh) but I’ll be catching up on your 2022 letters and look forward to reading your insights on race this year! Thanks for sharing :-)

Hands down, the discovery of the Ajami writing system. Thanks for sharing this and other links.
