Hello {{ first name | friends}},
Welcome to 2026 on SARN. I'm not going to reflect here on 2026 as a whole. That's coming in another piece later in the month. Just FYI, I prepared this update earlier than usual, so no doubt a few things will have change by the time you read it.
Here's what's been happening.
During December, I started planning content for January and beyond. I shared my updated publication schedule with you last month. At the time of writing, I had my January opener drafted, along with pieces on racism in interracial relationships and how to talk about racism, and I'm expecting at least one interview to come through for publication this month. Having the podcast on Mondays from this year also means I need to get a move on - I may mix evergreen stuff with topical stuff as I get started with 2026 content.
I've had a lot of fun putting together the "best of 2025" post, which will run later this month. I'm particularly proud of how the mini-podcast is going, because I think it's covered a wide range of important topics. I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts once that’s live.
In other news, my friend Mitch has been helping me put together a database of everything shared in the Reading Lists from the very beginning to the end of December 2025. I'm going to test it before making it more widely available. This would be a great resource for anyone running courses and training related to anti-racism and DEI. I haven't yet decided what - or if - to charge (though my business coach may have my head if I don't, lol.)
Let me get real about something else: subscriptions. The DEI backlash has taken a toll, and while you're still here (thank you), many others aren't. So if you know someone who should have a paid subscription, or can gift them one, please do so - it would make a world of difference.
